Caption: CN 314 rolls southbound through the Southern Ontario countryside with sisters CN 2962, CN 2961, and CN 8805 with just over 100 cars in tow.
I decided to frame the train with the telegraph pole as I thought it would look nice and telegraph poles are a feature that are becoming less and less common in the GTA, especially on CN. Little did I know that this would be one of the only shots I'd ever get of this pole.
When I revisited this location in May to shoot CN 303 (link here: http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=45730), I discovered that CN had removed both the obvious telegraph pole right in the foreground and the ones further back. A little investigating found that CN has removed all (or almost all) of the telegraph poles on the Bala sub south of Brechin. This train is the only southbound I have ever shot at this location.
