Just doing some looking on Google maps, that building on the left in the background looks like the south side of the York-Aberdeen Centre (364 York) building. So judging by the angle of the shot, and you saying it was taken in the morning, I can assume – and I am assuming – that the engine house was located just north of where the Sobeys now is. East of the station.
Well Mr Mooney, That is one interesting looking Building! Would have loved to have walked through it & taken a few pictures. The locomotive door on the right seems to indicate that part of the buildings floor is at a different level than the rest of the building. Too bad no one measured it, as it would have made a nice model for a museum. Thanks for posting the picture!
