Great shot! Oh the memories Actually the York Sub speed is 50 mph unless there are slow orders in place or the train is carrying dangerous goods. The speed through the turnouts at Liverpool (which is where your photo is shot) and Pickering Jct is 45 mph. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! I wasn’t aware of the speed limits on this part of the York Sub, though this train was definitely going 25mph over the hotbox detector at mile 7. I noticed trains tended to slow down significantly between here and Beare so I assumed the speed limit was lower.
Get those searchlight signals asap. I will be over there this weekend protecting the signal gangs that will be removing them and replacing them with the newer LED signals
Thank you for the heads up! Since it was a washout on Friday, I showed up first thing Saturday and saw the old signal bridge had already been replaced and was nowhere to be seen. You guys sure work fast!
Hey Adam, yes the signal dept started working on the replacements on Friday through the whole weekend. I was there Sat/Sun for 12 hrs a day as they did the signal testing.
