"Topeka Cab" MRI (Mohall Railroad Inc) 2180 sits tied down between assignments at the Richardson Pioneer elevator in Corinne Saskatchewan. MRI is owned/operated by the NPR (Northern Plains Railroad) which is also in the locomotive leasing business. The unit is still wearing colours of previous owner New Orleans & Gulf Coast Railroad. Originally built for ATSF in 10/1952, this unit has sure been around.

  1. Very nice old Geeps!

  2. One of the hoggers from Louisiana recently got in contact with me about how they used to call this unit “Barney” back in its New Orleans days since the paint was famously sun-bleached from a red to a maroon-ish purple. They seemed to enjoy running it and were happy to hear about its rehabilitation in Saskatchewan after fears it was scrapped
