Caption: Back when I quit work, late winter 2005; one of the things I vowed to do was wean off work slowly. The very idea of getting up every day at 0345 to report an hour later was a constant thing; and to all of a sudden doing nothing would not be good for my health. The shock to the system has led to an early demise for some; and I was not going to let that happen to me......so......the first couple of months into retirement; I still got up early and went out the door, only now to the tracks. Gradually I got up later and later and stayed out less. I'd hate to be going that route now, seeing how few trains there are.
Having said all this; I've presented my excuse for hanging around Tansley. I was there most every morning. It was the sun angle. Not bad at all in the morning.
In this shot; I checked my log and I must have been there most of the day, for the sun angle here looks to be around 1400 hrs or so as this train is running roughly northbound at this point on its way to Mac. I am at No. 1 Side Road, a dead end off Tremaine Rd. Nice place to park and listen the scanner and read the paper. I parked on the north side of the road, actually Milton; and the south side is Burlington. Approaching the crossing is a nice combination.......CN 5246, NREX 5703 (x-CP), GT 5922, and CNs 2677, 2547, 5781.
Not much scenery, but a decent train.

You are too young to be retired mister! Stoke up those coals and fire up the boiler. I am sure there are a lot of good miles left on you Great pic
I’m only operating at about 2 miles to the day now though.
Oh, and, Thanks!!
That’s awesome with the three different SD’s leading. Nice photo Arnold.
