It is the deep dark days of winter, but no matter how crummy the weather there is always a train to be found. Unlike some fans, I enjoy shooting in any weather. There are more moods than "sunny ways".
Here, on yes, a crummy day; the TH&B starlite (or, starlight, if you prefer) is Hamilton-bound with a nice mixture of power: CP 5539, 5734, 8745, 8146 and TH&B 77, 54.
In the distant background I notice the tall smokestack. That is of the old landmark that used to be out in Aldershot, before it was razed for new homes. The Burlington Brick Company.

  1. Very nice Arnold! I have to chuckle though, that this is yet more evidence of CP hauling around empty intermodal equipment, a tradition that has continued regularly for decades! I understand that repositioning moves are necessary, but no one seems to do it more that CP.

  2. Thanks. They do haul a lot of empties around; to keep the wheels clean :o ) but I did not notice it was any worse with them until you brought it to my attention.
