 Notable: CRAB ORCHARD and EGYPTIAN RAILROAD  -  AAR reporting SCOZ: the last steam powered common carrier ( freight only )


 Canadian connection:  the COER steam motive power ( second ) being 1940 built  CLC  ex Roberval & Saguenay #17 , a  2-8-0 in  COER service 1979 until 1986 when mechanical issue sidelined #17, then sold to Boon & Scenic Valley Railroad. ( thank you Donald R. McQueen: Constructed in Kingston )


 SCOZ owned 600 of those highway trailers and a handful of boxcars and 200 trailer flats


 COER remains a common carrier today with SW first generation power.

  1. COER also has a large fleet of ex-KCS grain cars in service in western Canada. They are painted in the old KCS passenger colours, black with a yellow and a red stripe at the bottom.
