Caption: It wasn't all that long ago, but it seems like it was. We were being treated to great combinations of ethanol train power thru Niagara several times a week. Now.....nothing. What rolls thru on the Galt sub now pales in variety.
An example is this late day version; SOO 6026, 6027, ICE 6458 and 6443 approaching mile 23 Hamilton sub and the Welland River bridge, which after crossing is the entrance to the Welland Yard. The backdrop of threatening clouds adds to the scene.
I refer to the north side of the water as 'Pelham' as municipal boundaries are a bit confusing in the area. The south side of the river here I refer to as 'Welland' even though I understand the Welland Yard is actually in Wainfleet.
SOO 6026 and 6027 are now CP 6301 and 6302. The ICE 6458 and 6443 were sold to the RCPE in 2014. Times change.
Quickly.

That is one fine photo! Great consist, a great location and the clouds create an interesting atmosphere.
Thank you, one fine Smith.
Is that the welland mileboard in the background?
Didn’t walk down, but yes, it must be. I am at River Rd., mile 23.
