  1. I was 3 months old when this was taken, now I’m graduating high school this year. Great shot

  2. Thanks for the compliment. :o ) Keep at it with the schooling!!! Very important.

  3. BTW Arnold, I realize now it was sometime around 2003 or 2004 that GEXR began operating to Goderich out of Stratford instead of Goderich, meaning against the sun in both ways..

does this jive with what you recall? I didn’t get out that way until around 2005..

  4. Yes, you will see in some of the earlier (1992-1998) submissions to RP that the train was made up in Goderich in the mornings, and my “job” was to get up there before the train left. It was often out around 0900 and so you would see GEXR roll in to Stratford around Noon which was great for sun angles. Not sure when this all changed.

  5. Nice shot of 4046 leading.

I believe it was all changed when 432/431 starting operating at nights and then 581 would use the same power during the day. I think all this occurred when the six-axle lease units arrived on the property.

  6. it changed before the six axle units.

There were three eras back then:

Operating from Goderich to Stratford era
Operting from Stratford to Goderich era, once it changed, 432/1 still had the gaggle of 4 axle units..

the six axle era began around 2008/9 and somtime around then (at least into 2011) the six axle units would run Goderich to Toronto and back but that too didn’t last too long.
