Caption: Coming onto PEI (by ferry) in 1981 I was rather surprised to see so much Island power down at the Borden yard. The station is on the left, and on the right in the yard is CN 1753 with 1751 behind, out of sight, and CN 1752 on the right. These MLW RSC-18 models would be retired by 1996 at the very latest; and according to the Trackside Guide, the 1751 ended up in Cuba!! Several buildings on the left had been razed since the last time I had photographed at this location, four years previous in 1977.
I would assume the station is long gone, as the area is totally redeveloped due to the new Confederation Bridge approach thru there. Someone mentioned to me the station was "down by the pier" but I am thinking that would be a replica. Not sure.
