The remarkable clear distance in the mid-west is exemplified by this image. Which was the basis for the old joke. “In Saskatchewan the land is so flat you could watch your dog run away for 3 days.”
awmooney- Its also great for when you hear a train on the scanner but can’t tell where it is, just finds some high ground!
Now this is prairie railroading at its best ! Great picture Matt, so different from Ontario, so wide open and expansive. And you topped it off with a “prairie sentinel” in the forever background. Thank you Matt, great way to celebrate New Year’s Day and good start to the new year. And Mr. Mooney, according to my cousin from the prairies, you didn’t get the “tail” quite right. It was 6 days you watched old Spike running, 3 days while he ran away, and 3 more after he decided to come back home. John
Well, John, lets just say jokes are another thing that has been abbreviated for convenience since you first started telling / listening to them ‘back then’. )
