The sun has risen high enough to illuminate EXO 932 as it passes the siding at MP 16.9 of the Deux-Montagnes Sub during the final morning rush hour for this line. Already truncated so that trains terminate at Bois-Franc Station since this past spring (instead of going all the way to downtown Montreal via the Mount Royal tunnel), the rest of the line will be shut down and all the tracks and infrastructure torn up after today. It will be replaced by the controversial REM light rail project, which is only set to be in service here during Q4 2024.

  1. End of an era.

  2. Sad day, truly a “last run day”, something that will now pass into history. It was an end of an era when the box cabs and the M’s & T’s were retired, but this is more than that. Not only the replacement MU equipment is disappearing, but now the rails , signals and overhead will all be gone, in a way, keeping with the end of a horrible year. Thank you Michael for recording history in a great picture. May 2021 be a happier year, John

  3. Sad indeed, thanks.

  4. We’re very glad you were able to capture it Michael. Thank you very much for ‘taking us there’.

  5. No problem, glad I got some shots…. others have covered this line in much greater detail than I did.
