It is pretty well the end of the line for these old N&W warriors sitting near the CN locomotive facility on a warm August day at Fort Erie. The end of an era. Seen are N&W GP7 #3453, x-Wabash 453, and I understand built only for service only in Canada. In behind is EMD F7A #3725, originally built back in the early '50s for Wabash as their #1189.
The Niagara Water Tower in the distance is not long from being dismantled. I used to use it as "proof of location" whenever I could.

  1. Another historical gem of a photo…I wonder some days if it was real or just a dream

  2. Kind words. Thanks. Over the years I knew the NW units were on the way out, but one day I went to Fort Erie and…….hey, the Water Tower is gone !!! Never did find out when it came down.
