Caption: About 6 years before all the track in downtown Niagara Falls was torn up for a Casino and other atrocities, we see CP 4211 leading 8248 and 4233 past the Minolta Tower on its way to the USA. This is June, the weather is great, and the real fun begins when everyone starts cursing and bitching when the train fouls the Clifton Hill tourist area. I was probably the only one who enjoyed it. Never-the-less, no matter what it was like, traffic was so bad in the falls during tourist season (almost all year) that it wasn't worth the effort to try and get ahead of this train and catch it again before it made the bridge. All three locomotives on this train are now off the roster; and the two MLWs have gone to where sometimes I wish I could. The Apache Railroad in sunny Arizona!!
It would be interesting to revisit this spot and check the view today. It is now so full of hotels it would look more like downtown Toronto than little ol' Niagara.
