For the station fans on this rail photography site; here is another obscure one. Dorion, up the road along Hwy 11/17 from Thunder Bay is another example of how railroad stations were so important back when the Iron Horse was king. Communities in remote areas relied on the train for almost everything. This rather sad station is another that outlived it' usefulness. Note the large freight area. The passenger waiting room was no doubt small; as Dorion is a township of 82 square miles (212 KM) and for all that size only has 316 people in the latest census.
Yet, it once warranted a station.
Best information I can find about this place, it was built in the 1920s and demolished around 1983.
