Railway operations on the Cape Breton section of the CB&CNSR were discontinued 2015.
It is possible that in the future you may have an opportunity to capture rail traffic on the Canso Causeway
Novaporte - a planned Canadian new build container Mega-Terminal to be located in Sydney - requires the Cape Breton railway to be fully functional prior to construction commencing on the planned container terminal.
Novaporte is awaiting the outcome of discussions between the Provincial Government and the new owner of the Genesee & Wyoming, owner and operator of the Cape Breton & Central Nova Scotia Railway .
