Yes Steve, most times during the mid-90′s the 15:30 Job would only operate with one unit to switch the Budd Plant. However, on occasion they would use both GP9RM’s assigned to Kitchener, especially if they had a larger train for Elmira that day.
I imagine back then they were still ‘new’ and not filled with mechanical ailments..
Yes Steve, the rebuilt GP9′s were favourites of the crews as well as before there arrival Kitchener had mostly SW’s assigned. After May 1993, CN never assigned another SW1200RS to Kitchener or Stratford.
