Caption: Still early in the new CLRV era, Robert McMann wasted no time in capturing the newest streetcars in various street scenes around the city. Here, TTC CLRV 4044 heads eastbound in traffic on College approaching Elizabeth Street, running on the 506 Carlton route. In the background, one can see a Gray Coach Lines MCI MC-8 heading southbound on Queen's Park Crescent crossing to University Avenue. On the right are the University of Toronto Best and Banting buildings (built 1954 & 1930), named after the two UofT researchers who, in the 1920's, first discovered insulin.
