After tooling around on the Mactier Sub for a few days dumping rail, CWR-25 with an interesting configuration of engines (due to issues with 6024) heads south through Old Weston taking the track to face west on the Galt Sub. The conductor stands on the rear platform of former SOO SD60 #6256 (presumably for better visibility) as they round the tight curve geared for a mere 10MPH. Today was quite a special one as its not every day you see a train use this particular track in the middle of the day anymore, not to mention I was given zero notice about this train coming south today once in for all and only made my way to the Junction when I was notified about it being lined. Almost missed it too! They ended up tying down in Lambton for about 2 hours waiting for a London crew to move the train west on the Galt Sub.

  1. The conductor is on the end of the unit because there has to be someone on the *point* when moving, especially over a road and yes the engineer would have a blind spot and not be able to see signals or the roadway or obstructions

  2. Nice location choice. That’s the rail corridor below (at left) for GO/UPE trains, correct? The conductor is giving you the stare haha!
