Caption: STOPPING AT SUDBURY - The fireman carries back two coffees for himself and the engineer of the 6502, about to lead the eastbound Canadian # 2 on to Montreal on September 29, 1988. The photographer and his Fiancée had traveled all the way from Winnipeg and at this stop, the train would be split into two so that this portion would head east to Montreal and the second on an adjacent track, now renamed Canadian # 10, would head due south to Toronto with them on board. Another chance to ride yet another route on their nearly month long Canadian rail adventure. Further down the line, this train would have to back up to transfer a Toronto bound passenger who accidently boarded the Montreal portion, but discovered just in the nick of time.
