It sure does make you wonder where all the gov’t hoppers were. It will have taken some effort to find the empty grain boxes and then get a string like this put together.
The famed Manitoba “Buffalo Boxcars”, probably the last grain boxcar fleet in service (they lasted into the mid-1990′s). The last of CP’s lasted about that long too, around the time both railways were either abandoning or upgrading the last of their light rail branchlines on the prairies to handle the heavier covered hoppers.

Some of those “Buffalo Boxcars” were scrapped at the “S Yard” in MacMillan Yard in Toronto during the mid-1990′s.
