Caption: Well, it was fun while it lasted. All those neat little hometown stations with friendly personnel to shoot the breeze with. All over Ontario. CP Parry Sound was the best. There, Jimmie Bell was so nice to visit many trips were just so I could sit at the station. Here, in snowbound Jordan on the CN, the operator is long gone; I am not sure what year he was removed. But I still liked it here. The building is boarded up and ended up being sold and moved a few hundred yards away where it now stands as a beautiful home. Complete with namesign. I slow down and admire it each time I pass by.
It is too bad life is so impersonal along the lines today.
Jordan was a nice place to hang out. The bridge is a few hundred feet in the distance in this photo, and soon another thing of the past, the caboose, will trundle over it and all will be quiet again. Then, it is time to go.
