So can anyone explain the BNSF numbering scheme? 9370 was built and tested on GEXR in 2006

And yet this one is 8465 and appears to have been built in 2013?
This was a nice catch…picked a good spot for EBs at that hour too, getting lucky with the sun to boot!
First time in a while an SD40-2 led on a revenue freight train too, if I’m not mistaken.
After looking over the BNSF roster it looks like SD70ACE’s fill in most of the space between the number series other the two SD70MAC orders and no units using the 8600-8749 number block.
