Caption: It's now been about 20 years since CN and CP instituted directional running from Basques, BC to the Vancouver area. In 2004, this was supplemented by "co-production agreements" where CN and CP trains operate to points on the other railway to avoid interchanges in the lower mainland. Here we see CP train 303 operating to the coast on CN track where it will terminate "North Shore grain" at CN's Thornton Yard. According to the 2017 Trackside Guide, 303 could originate at Alyth, Brandon, Broadview, Clover Bar, Dumore, Hardisty, Medicine Hat, Moose Jaw, Red Deer, Sutherland, Swift Current, Wilkie, Winnipeg, Wynyard, or even Kamloops!
