Caption: As usual, around Niagara Falls it was late in the day when the trains begin to run. Mid-day moves not very common but once the sun is going down, there was always something of interest. This is why so many nights after work, I drove from St. Catharines to the Falls even though I worked the other direction in Stoney Creek; and it made for many long days.
With the sun just barely of use on a day nearing the end of August, it was fortunate to catch this second #521 heading west. I had parked at Montrose Rd, a few hundred feet behind me, and trotted up to the trestle over the Welland River in hopes of a decent shot. I did NOT know there would be 7 locomotives up front. Anyway, the parade of power this time was CP 5515, GATX 7365, EMDX 187, SOO 6450 (B unit), CP 5410, CR 6322 and CRL 608 (CR Leasing). Tearing off back to the car and lickety-splitting down the road, I did get a second shot before the train got to Brookfield and down into the canal stretch, which meant the end of available light for a film camera.
Wondered about all the power. The first three units I associated with the D&H, as they were frequent down that way.

Very cool shot. When was the second track removed?
