Caption: After hearing that a pair of GMD1s were at Aldershot and assigned to 551 this afternoon, I headed up to the Halton sub to catch them on their way to Milton (hauling 16 cars). Of the 39 units rebuilt by CN in 1988 and 1989 (15 with A1A-A1A trucks that were later converted to B-B trucks, and 24 with B-B flexicoil trucks), 14 are still on the CN roster in July 2020 with 7 in service, 5 stored servicable, 1 awaiting repairs and another awaiting disposition). From what I have heard 5 are around Winnipeg and another 5 are in southern Ontario--so catching two of them operating together is a rare treat!
