A nice surprise this morning, CN extra 382 nears it's final destination of Mac Yard passing through Georgetown at 0836h with 642 axles, plus a colourful assortment of 5 GE Dash 8-40CMs for K&K Recycling in Pickering.

  1. Nice. Train symbol was X38231-20 (Sarnia to Mac) and the C40-8Ms are all actually billed to Martech Rail Services in Southern, ON. CN seems to be gathering them all at Mac Yard before they ship them there for whatever reason.

  2. …I’ll correct myself. BCOL 4621, CN 2406 and BCOL 4615 went out on A421 on July 19th.

  3. I saw those three were going to Southern Yard and was curious as to why that was the destination. Martech eh? Interesting. Curious what they’d want with them – doesn’t seem to fit their MO at all.

I figured SLM via Trillium at Feeder was a more likely destination (and it was just labelled as Southern).

  4. Thanks for the info Tim. Looking at Martech’s operation it is curious why they’d be getting them. Interesting anyways.

  5. Very nice shot. Great lighting.
