Caption: On rails typically only graced at night, TE11 is pictured here on a nice spring afternoon crossing over the Welland River on its way back to Welland with cars from Chemtrade and Washington Mills. A little over a year ago, Arnold Mooney shared a glimpse of this scene from 1991, when it was double tracked, with westbound train 321 crossing the bridge with CSXT 8221 and 6218. It's still pretty easy to picture it as a mainline to be honest. As far as branchlines go, the track and roadbed appear to be in decent shape in most places, but nonetheless they trundle along at no more than 10 mph.
Before anyone asks, this move is done by TE21 at night on the Wednesday and Saturday overnight shifts. In other words, this is not the norm.

Unique shot. Seldom photographed with a usually nocturnal train to boot.
That was such a busy line. Haven’t seen anything there in ages. Good capture!!
Great to see, in nearly 20 years of commuting to work near that line I have never seen it…
Thanks guys. Was fun to see it if I do say so myself.
Awesome shot Jamie, nice to see some action on a bridge I’ve passed often on all those trips to Fort Erie haha.
Looks like you had a fun day of chasing them on that quad though eh?!
Traded in the Kia for the quad, and never looked back haha.
But in all seriousness, if you don’t run into quads and dirtbikes while you’re railfanning in Niagara, then you aren’t going to the right places.
