Caption: It appears from the days not very long ago when CP ran quite a few trains, the train running under the symbol #147 is one of the few still in operation, and even it is no longer a daily. The unit to "watch for" at the time of this image was the leader, CP 8888, if only for the 'neat' number. I guess we were all getting to take the leased power and others for granted. This day CP 8888, ICE 6431 and CEFX 3168 power the westbound over the causeway at the Mountsberg Conservation Area, a few miles out of Guelph Jct.

The first line about CP running quite a few trains in 2012…Last week i took my first venture out to North Toronto sub thanks to your heads up about the “baby blue” (ha) CMQ heading our way. I met a lovely lady railfan! and we noted in the 7 hours we hung out we saw 2 light moves Westbound..one of which picked up autoracks and headed up Mactier sub and I caught (I think) 421 headed Westbound as well as, said lovely railfan, left to grab a pizza (doah). We finally went to Lambton where 247 was leaving Eastbound. My question is.. How does CP make money? Mind you I didn’t head out until about 3pm.
Lady railfan? Rare bird! Thats a good day in itself!!
In 2012 I have not a list of trains but do recall three westbounds within 2 hours daily around 11AM and that is what I went out for. An eastbound worked in there, too. I recall 441, 442, 147, 245, 240, 248, also usually an ethanol..#642/643; also Niagara bound ethanol 626/627 as per my notes early 2012. Enough traffic even worth standing in sloppy slush and miserable cold wind/fog or what have you. CP makes their money on bulk in the West, I would have to think. Honestly for awhile I wondered if they might sell Sou Ont.
