The arrival of the CMQ units in Toronto on June 12 was a surprise to most and I was annoyed that " prior duties " did not allow me to shoot them. Then low and behold, the following day they were dispatched on 421. Luck was with me and the day was perfect. It took plenty of patience sitting in the grass watching birds and listening to frogs, but the end result proved worth it. Heading for an unknown fate, CMQ 9020 and 9022 were being hauled dead to Winnipeg on this monster 421. 13000 feet, 11000 tons and 804 axles. No wonder she was crawling.

  1. Very nice Steve! Better than waiting in the cold or at the side of a busy road :)

  2. Just like that, the units are coming back south today, presumably under power
