It seems that without fail the ol' "Starlite" impressed us fans. You just never knew what you would see for power, and whatever it was, it was interesting.
Some beautiful late afternoon lighting on this delightful Wednesday evening as the train rolled thru destined for Hamilton's Aberdeen Yard on the short run from Toronto. Power is CP 4564, 5545 and TH&B 74. The big M-630 on the lead would be retired in the early 90s, come back for a final hurrah, and be retired for good by 1995.

  1. Oh so close Arnold. Just a few days ago Mr. Farkas posted CN GP9 4565. Would have been a neat coincidence of unit numbers from opposing roads. :-)

  2. Oh no! Now you have probably started something !!

  3. Did they normally use M-630/M636′s on the Starlight? I remember in Clarkson, on the Oakville sub, it was mostly CP SD40-2′s in my time. And the trains to Oakville yard with auto racks. Another well done Mr Mooney!!

  4. Thanks, Brad. No, not often did I see them on the Starlite; but then, one could see anything if they hung around the Jct long enough. And, only once did I see a Red Barn leading; but the mixtures of CP & TH&B always kept us happy.

  5. Beauty.

  6. Merci, Mr. Host. When I looked it as it got uploaded to the site, I wondered why it took me more than 6 years to get around to posting it. :o )

  7. If the Conrail power was in Agincourt. They would send them east to Coburg and use the good stuff on the Starlight.
