Caption: Can't find my notes on this. Perhaps i forgot to make a note, after all this is a far less than perfect day, but as you can see, the "fans" still come out in force. I think I see the vehicles of young Misters Adeney, and Snake, (heck we were all young then) as well as my own 'blue Coug' in what was the most popular railfan hangout I knew of.
On this dismal day for some reason I wandered up on the ledge; and CP 5726, 5564 and 8114 still made for a decent memory as it rumbled by, en route to Hamilton's Aberdeen yard.
For viewers around the country, the foreground track is two mains of the CN Dundas Sub, and lower one the former CN helper track, where in steam days power waited to assist trains on the long climb westward. At the time of this pic, it was either severed at the switch or a stub for MoW equipment.

I see Jim Salisbury’s yellow Bronco, my ’67 Chev beside it, and Jim’s brother’s pickup. I wonder where Bill MacArthur and Reg Button are? I don’t remember who we called Snake. Those were the best of times, but we didn’t know that yet.
Greg Roach is the self-proclaimed “snake”, James. I am sure that is his little buggy parked next to mine. Thanks for filling in all the names we need to know. But the Honda ???

If the Honda were dark green it would be Reg Buttons. I don’t remember anyone driving a blue one.
Is that someone getting a shot from the other side of the tracks? I Know Bayview well but it would be another 8 Years until I made it there. It will be good to go back and meet some of the lads up here including yourself..that is when the COVID subsides.

That might be me standing there next to the Honda. I worked at Honda Downtown at about this time.

Speaking of the old helper track and the steep climb up the escarpment, that drive up the hill to the parking was pretty steep. On a Winters day like this i’m sure you’d almost need chains on your tires, gun in it pretty good or a few helpers of your own to push you up the hill.
