Caption: Five different types of GMD locomotive power this CN train on the Grimsby sub in mid-July 1980.
Leading is CN 4003, second CN GP40 in the series built 1966; it would be renumbered CN 9303 in 1981.
Second is GP38-2 CN 5530 built 1973, it would be renumbered CN 4730 in 1988.
Following are SD40 CN 5036, GP40-2(w) CN 9650, and GP9 CN 4535.
Based on current streetviews, looks like this train was heading west toward Hamilton.

Reg wrote 432 ahead of the unit numbers, as if train number. For some years 422 has been a daily train along here.
Which locomotives are not painted as delivered?
The first and last, CN 4003 has received diagonal stripes, while CN 4535 originally wore CN’s pre-noodle olive green.
The auto is a red Ford Granada with at least one rust hole and a blue Mercury (Monarch) trunk lid.
I always enjoy seeing Reg Button’s photos—he is a legend for Hamilton railfans.
