What is is that Monty Python used to say..."And now for something completely different!" How about a pair of Illinois Central C-636s solo at Kinnear Yard in Hamilton!?! While these units may not have been a hit with the IC (retired by 1979, if I'm right) or CP (only briefly leased), they certainly were a catch for the fans.

    Something about CP not knowing how the (air?) starters worked originally. Hard to believe they were barely two years old when leased to CP – practically brand new power!

    They were orphans on IC and didn’t last long there (even CP didn’t want them). I think in the end they were traded in to PNC after only 10-12 years.

    I heard there were “gremlins” in them.
