Caption: Interestingly, I was going through one of the group sites on Facebook, and up popped a memory post from the Toronto Historical Railway Association. It was of the time that the Don Station moved...again to it's now final resting place, nestled in the heart of downtown's former railway lands. I was glad to see the THRA's post, as I had forgotten about this photo I took now over 12 years ago. The weather wasn't the greatest, similar to what we are experiencing this week. It was one of those miserable, rainy days.
Back then, the station's future was still uncertain. I was informed through a close friend at the time, that the THRA was having discussion with the city to moving the station to downtown into what is now Roundhouse Park, from it's then current location of Todmorden Mills. There seemed to be some funding that needed to happen, in order to save the station. The bigger question was going to be how to move the structure, while preserving it's appearance. Unfortunately my notes have been misplaced, but the result has been quite clear, as the move was successful (approx. 2 years after). Please click here to see the station, after it's move and still under restoration in April 2010.

Thats so quaint. Not big enough to be a house, but sure would make a nice cottage.
