Caption: As usual, I seem to be out more on crappy days than good ones, and I see this is no exception. But it was a day off work and you have to take what you can get.
It is late March and I preferred the flurries coming down rather than rain.
CN 1388 and 1355 are seen here upon their return from Hamilton. I think this is train #555, but not sure, as I did not mark the photo. I do miss these old SW switchers; they seemed so reliable and practical from a fans' point of view. Once, they seemed to be everywhere.
In this image, the tall stack in the background is the site of the former Burlington Brick plant. The area is all homes now; brick plant is history.

The CNNA paint scheme worked best when there were matching units. But I think it looked the sharpest on the SW1200RS’s. Neat Arnold. The snow adds to this one for sure.
Thanks. I’ve wondered how many of these ’1200′s got to wear this new paint.
I loved working with these units. They were quick as a rabbit when switching and kicking cars and so responsive to the throttle. I used to have 5 of them lashed up on 403 out of Oshawa to Aldershot every night and you can definitely forget about those “spark arrestors”. Those baby’s put on a light show buring the carbon build up. I even had one catch fire before. Amazing units!
