Caption: A photo to go with Jamie Knotts recent post of the 4710. Here it is 29.7 years earlier. Not many changes in all that time. The yellow reflective stripe has been changed, electric bell replaces the mechanical, horn has been moved, some placards along the frame edge have gone and the paint has weathered. I snapped a few good pictures of this unit in the summer of 1986 in the black noodle scheme with original number 5510. Checking further in my notes, the first time I saw it freshly painted in zebra stripes was Feb.24th, 1987. My last sighting of it as the 5510 was June 18th, 1988. This photo is my initial sighting of it as the 4710. On this day it is taking loaded tanks to the airforce base and a few grain cars to be peddled along the way, cab 79836 is on the tailend. The 4708 is trailing, photo taken at 11:45.

Great to see this Larry
Glad I was able to find this and that it’s showing the same side as yours.
I forgot to mention that this location is approx. 3 miles west of Redwater.
