CP's westward Dominion, reduced to a primarily mail and Express train, led by an Alco FPa-2 a rarity in western Canada makes a stop at Virden. The ancient even by 1964 standards on the platform   belongs to the Post Office contractor. Express business was big, the Purolators, UPS, FedEx of the time when the railroads were the lifeblood on goods transportation.
