Caption: Some days I just did not want to go home. Had a great day at Fort Erie. Those who are familiar with shooting down that way know the havoc of the sun angle. It always seems to be in the wrong position........unless there is something coming over from the states.
I didn't think much of this effort, as it is an image shot via slide and I wasn't going to see the results for a week or two. Not instant stuff like today's digital age. I didn't even bother to log the numbers. (7549 & a 95xx)
Looking back now 35 years this shot has some historical interest to it. Sure, Conrail is history, but so is the bridge as of late, the water tower and the CN crew hostel on the left. I am not sure when it came down, but the base is still there because I park on it watching for trains coming off the bridge. As for the water tower, I was looking at some pics one day and....hey!...what happened to the water tower? I guess I should have paid more attention to details..................

Arnold, I thought the crew hostel was down on the west of the diesel shop and is still standing, or was that another one?
I’ve always known of this as a hostel. I don’t know the other one. Perhaps one of the other long time CN guys might have a better insight.
