Caption: HISTORY PRESERVED ...here, VIA 73 passes the preserved relics of railway days gone by. In the photo is a former van, and just off to the left is the beautifully restored station. Where I'm standing would have been on the former station platform, had that station not been replaced by VIA's standard design of shelters. The van I believe is sitting on what would have been the freight, or shed track that usually ran in behind the station. Here in the glory days of railroading, railway employees would load goods to be transported locally or abroad. Just behind me, the westbound main remains intact until the outskirts of Chatham. Here, 73 will glide over the switch and take that main while on the eastbound 76 will make it's station stop to pickup one, lonely traveler. It was a nice surprise to see 76, wrapped in the wonderful Canada 150 design led by F40 #6402.
