Caption: Conrail had been in existence a couple of years by the time I shot this, but the painting over to the "Big Blue" would be an ongoing project for many years. A couple of CR geeps, 5739 & 5795, in their dreadful old Penn Central colours are seen here in front of the passenger station used only by the CP/TH&B budds by this time.
The 'Conrail blue' van is #19387 and the boxcar, Pacific Great Eastern, adds some history to the scene. These two locomotives were frequently seen in Fort Erie interchanging traffic.

You have a good trend going with the box cars. First up every time too.
Looks like they couldn’t even patch them out right to keep the old Penn Central from coming back. If I’m not mistaken, they’re both long-hood-forward US-built Geeps, so would be running backwards either way. (the Canadian-built ones were oriented the right way though).
The station is all boarded up too…
I wonder what took less time – painting everything into cr blue or ns/csx getting rid of it
