At the time, the plow was coupled to Jordan spreader CP 402894 and parked on a stub track near the locomotive service facility. A year earlier on October 20, 2015 I was at CP Weston shops in Winnipeg where they had several plows inside being evaluated for potential repairs. I’m not sure if a plow refurb program was ever undertaken. Interesting. Paul Santos’s plow still has friction bearings (in 2014). This nice sunny photo of 401058 shows it has been upgraded to roller bearings. Cannot be many pieces of equipment left with friction bearings anymore.

CP 400845 was upgraded sometime between 2013 and 2016 but I don’t know where the work was done. It’s had the side ladders shortened with new doors installed slightly forward of the original position. it also received a new coat of paint. Nuts. Not sure I like that paint scheme. Could that be a DM&E variation given the location?

The paint scheme in this photo and the logo used on this plow has been largely unchanged since it was built. IMHO at least the 1920′s possibly even earlier with slight modifications as regulations changed
