After landing in the airport in Saskatoon and grabbing my rental, I booked it out of town to the Watrous, specifically to this spot - CN Hawoods. From my limited experience, quite a few meets take place here at Hawoods and that's what I was headed for. Sure enough, when I got there I found 114 (pictured at left) waiting in the hole. I knew it wouldn't be long for a westbound to come out of town, as this is the first spot for meets west of Saskatoon. Sure enough, 119 (pictured right) was along not soon after. I stuck around to shoot 114 departing, then grabbed 196 a little further west. I wasn't in the area much longer, and soon headed south for Craik, Aylesbury, Moose Jaw, and Mortlach.

    Great action shot James! Reminds me of my limited time in Edmonton back in July…man, the trains there!

    What the heck is beside 119 units. To big for a dwarf, to small as a typical signal. Is it so flat there that half masts get the job done. LOL. :-)

    @Kevin honestly it’s like shooting fish in a barrel out there compared to things here.

    @Larry yeah that’s a funny one eh? Noticed that too when I first visited Hawoods back in 2018.

    @jknott86 I know, I was shocked at how busy it was compared to here…I saw at least 4 stack trains in a matter of 15-20 mins, two in each direction, at one time! Here, you’re lucky to catch one train in the span of an hour!
