Caption: I stopped in on the south side of the Calder diesel shops to take a few photos when up from the city yard came the 1268 shoving a string of coaches. They were turning them on the wye formed at West Jct. with the tracks going in and out of Calder (towards the Pulldown) and the north and south mains which lead to City yard and the Edmonton depot. Complicated, but there is a wye that can be used. In my time, we turned coaches on a large loop track, just a ways south of West Jct. It was pretty rickety then and I assume not being used anymore in 1985. Of interest in the Calder area on this day. VIA 6511 with Steam Generator car 15409 were sitting on the shop tracks. An old Vanderbilt tender, #80080, was still sitting down by the Pulldown yard. It had been sitting there for a number of years. CN 1347 was parked at the East Tower and CN 1508 was switching at the West Tower. A nice variety of SW1200rs's.

Very nice Larry.
Thanks Jason.
I should have mentioned in the caption the black exhaust stacks. It sure seems most are light grey. Are they painted black and as time goes by they age and turn grey from the heat? Whatever, these ones are solid black and if I’m not mistaken a little taller than the typical arrestor.
