Caption: A VIA loco that was fairly common around here in the late 1980s was this BBD LRC-3 #6921 shown. I had captured this one more often than most. And never really cared much for this model. Built in 1983, it was already retired by 2002 on account poor reliability. But it lives on, having gone to Delson and the Canadian Railway Museum in 2004.
This image is a morning view off the Walkbridge at the Botanical Gardens in Burlington, train is eastbound; it could be #70 or #72, I forget. Looks like it might have been a push-pull. ( No, I have no idea who that is parked at the Jct and probably out with a camera.)
Still, I am pleased as to having 'wasted' film on this and similar units. They're already a distant memory. And to think, in a couple more years we will see the next era of modern VIA power and perhaps the current 'uglies'(P42DC) will be phased out. Time marches on.

Digging up the oldies. Not much happening around here, and if there is anything happening anywhere else, it isn’t worth the bother of getting stuck in the usual traffic jams to get there.

Gone are the days of hearing of something on the way and making Bayview in a half hour. Now, often it takes 15 minutes just to get over the bridge. IF I am lucky.
You’ll notice I am not at my favourite eatery as often, either.
there are some cool trains running by here…IM’s with DPU’s in any position none of which we’d ever see normally….WB usually around 9 am is the holier than thou 111….and 183 has been running around lunch hour…I’ve only seen 2 manifests since the strike started…yesterday what looked like 302 – all import autos went east at 3 pm. I think there was about 6 maybe in daylight yesterday. Only 148 is running regularly in daylight.

Former gexr is operating fairly normally… no strike for the Kithener terminal. (Nonwithstanding how to get stuff in or out)

Fabulous Arnold, as per usual. ‘Pure’ LRC trainsets (at least in my experience), especially double ended, were comparatively rare. It was far more common to see an LRC locomotive coupled to an aging FP or FPA, or later on F40PH: perhaps acknowledgement of their horrendous reliability record. In all my visits to Bayview I believe I only captured one or two LRC only manufactured equipment trains. Again, fabulous!
CP can be a **battle** to see sometimes…no pun intended

@Snakie: Part of the reasoning I am not out trackside as much as I was is considering the fact that “Do I really NEED more pictures”?
But now the Heritage Units are out. And some poorly done “CN 100″ paints. And some odd VIA decals. Still lots to look for, I guess.
