Caption: With cold days once again upon us, I figured it'd be time to pull this one out of the vault from last winter. 331 with a double cowl lashup is just about to cross Glendale Ave in St Catharines after meeting 421, met with angered drivers, who no doubt are already mad about the road conditions. This was nearing the end of an ice storm which slicked up everything considerably. The travel down to see 331 was no breeze either, but this was a lashup I wasn't planning on missing. Considering that cowls may no longer be running soon if rumours amount to truth, this shot may be a thing of the past.

What what what?
So glad I took a lot of time in the summer of 2018, catching the lease units and cowls. Now to let those photo’s age in an oak cask for 15 to 20 years. They’ll be smooth and ready for posting.
They may be pretty (or not) to photograph, but they were terrible to operate. That being said, I am glad i was able to photograph a few over the years.
I’ve heard that now from multiple crew members that they weren’t the best. They definitely look clunky but I feel like that was part of the appeal to railfans. Something unique to catch that you wouldn’t see outside of Canada.
In reply to both of you, I’m absolutely glad I shot as many as I did. Whether this is the last time we see them run or not, I don’t have many regrets as to shooting as many as I did.
