Caption: Not quite the perfect time machine shot, but contrasting this April 1983 view of Dundas & Bay is this April 2009 view: TTC CLRV 4017, showing some wear from the nearly three decades of regular service she's given the City of Toronto, pauses to load passengers on a westbound Rt.505 Dundas run. The Atrium on Bay remains nearly unchanged, but the explosion of development around Dundas Square has created a wall of glass and advertisements in the distance at the north-east corner.
Since the last PCC's retired from service in the mid-90's, the CLRV and ARLV fleet had been the sole streetcar equipment in regular use on the system (until the new Bombardier cars started entering service in 2014). 4017 would soldier on for nearly another decade in service until retirement in October 2017, at the ripe old age of 38 years old.
