Caption: This view from the hillside at Bayview Junction features CN 4100, 6630 and 3100 about to cross from the Oakville Sub to the Dundas and begin the long climb westward. It was a hot and steamy late August day, back before the formation of VIA, and anything could be seen powering the passenger trains.
Note the switch is still in for that "helper track" on the left, its purpose being that helper engines were stationed there to help heavy trains climb the grade to Copetown. The 'railfans walkbridge' in the background is brand new, but no buffs there; the heat probably drove them to cooler locations.......or home.
