BCR 762, 758 and 757, three SD40-2's, are stopped in front of the Lillooet Station before they proceed north to Prince George. The trains ran very slowly through this region, and always with a track patrol, either a pickup or a speeder, watching for rock slides as they led them through the most treacherous parts of the terrain. I believe, from what I've read, that since CN's takeover in 2003, the track patrols were gradually replaced with barriers and slide fences. It was also in that year that what was once a world class railway experience, disappeared forever.

  1. Super cool Joe. I miss the BC rail and BC hydro days. I see the step for passengers to en-train is out and ready. :-)

  2. Yes indeed. I was very pleased to be able to record even this small bit of BCR’s history, and thanks for your attention to detail as well. That step was much used back then. :-)
