Caption: I'm not convinced i'm standing in the same spot as Doug's shot of similar location in 1964, but i'm close. Here's the 2019 view from near the end of Crooks St - Crooks St is almost unshootable now as the trees have grown ever taller, but you can walk down an embankment recently cut down of trees (by the landowner, as it blocked their view!). A couple Canada Geese stare me down as 422 passes eastbound on the Oakville sub. The harbour as seen in Doug's shot was filled in, not sure initially what for but now for the park. The hillside must have been wide open in the 60's.

Also note some of these auto parts cars are being scrapped in Hamilton. Not sure the plan but many are ending extended life (50 yrs) built in 69 or 70
Nice shot Steve. Was hoping someone would post the present view after I saw Doug’s shot. I believe Bayfront Park used to be a landfill. Also, I’d seen lone auto cars kicking around Stuart and wondered if that might be the case – thanks for confirming.
Tx and No prob! I saw one going to triple metal or aim by strathearne yard earlier this week
Doug may have been standing at the dead end of Crooks; or he could have been on the bluff at the north end of Locke Street.
Your shot is looking toward the fill-in portion between open water and Bay Street.
